Facility Rental Guide

Welcome to Christ Church UMC! We’re pleased to offer a variety of spaces for community gatherings, meetings, rehearsals, celebrations, and special events.

Please review the spaces, capacities, amenities, and approval requirements below before submitting a rental request.

Rental Policies

All rentals are subject to the church calendar and might be asked to change or move based on church needs and events.
Long-term leases require both internal and external approval that can take up to 45 days to finalize.
Certain rooms have weekday availability restrictions.
Instrument Use: Use of the Sanctuary organ or piano must be cleared in advance by our church organist, Janet Tolman.
Commercial Cooking: Our kitchen is not commercial grade. It is suitable for potlucks and small meal prep, but not for large-scale catering preparation.

Large Event Spaces

These spaces are best for worship services, banquets, receptions, performances, and other larger gatherings.

Sanctuary

Capacity: 250 seated in pews (Fire Marshal rated up to 400 total).
Features: Sound/AV system, organ, piano, and narrow lobby entrance (fits two 8ft tables).
Amenities: Worship platform furniture can be moved. Includes a back cry/prayer room with glass windows.
Accessibility: Handicap lift, elevator access from Craycroft Rd., and Fellowship Hall. Restrooms on the main level.

Fellowship Hall (Located directly below the Sanctuary)

Capacity: 250 seated at tables (more if using chairs only).
Features: Built-in sound system, multiple outlets, piano, and a library.
Amenities: Restrooms (one features a shower) and direct kitchen access.

Social Hall

Capacity: 150 (chairs only); fewer if tables are set up.
Features: Can be divided into two rooms. Includes a piano and multiple wall outlets.
Amenities: Direct access to restrooms and a kitchen. No gate key required.

Chapel

Capacity: 100 seated in pews (125 total capacity).
Features: Piano, altar, and pulpit space.
Amenities: Restrooms located near the Social Hall. No gate key required.

Classrooms & Meeting Spaces

These rooms work well for small group meetings, training sessions, rehearsals, and classroom-style gatherings.

Conference Room

Availability: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM only.
Capacity: 10 people maximum.
Location: Located inside the main church office.

Classrooms 15 & 17

Capacity: 30 people max (chairs only) or 25 people max (with tables).

Classroom 14 (Movie Theater)

Features: Fixed theater seating, overhead projector, and dedicated sound system.

Classroom 18

Features: Large wall mirror.
Note: Shared with daycare storage; best for small groups who do not mind visual clutter.

Classroom 16

Best For: Individual or small-group piano practice.
Note: Shared space used for choral music storage.

Classrooms 7 through 11 (Daycare Spaces)

Availability: Limited availability (Daycare uses these Mon–Fri, 6 AM – 6 PM).
Requirement: Restricted to groups requiring specialized daycare equipment. Requires secondary daycare board approval.

Outdoor Spaces

Outdoor areas are available for casual gatherings, memorials, and community events, with varying access to seating, shade, and restrooms.

Parking Lot

Best For: Swap meets, neighborhood gatherings, and large-group school events.
Note: Features basketball infrastructure but renting groups must set up and take down the hoops themselves (heavy lifting required).

Courtyard & Ramada

Features: Shaded ramada with 3 picnic tables (seats 6 people each).
Flexibility: Extra tables/chairs can be added. Open grass area may be used for guest-provided shade structures.

Memorial Prayer Garden

Capacity: 30 seated or 50 standing.
Best For: Contemplative gatherings, memorials, or remembrance services.
Amenities: One electrical outlet. Restrooms located in the Social Hall.

Meditation Garden (Located South of Fellowship Hall)

Capacity: Fits 6 tables with 8 chairs each (picnic tables provided).
Amenities: Access to Fellowship Hall restrooms (if hall is unlocked).
Note: Brick space with no shade. Rental is strongly discouraged during summer months due to temperatures reaching 120°F.

Kitchen Access

Kitchen use is available for light food service and event support, subject to weekday daycare scheduling.

Fellowship Hall Kitchen

Availability: Reserved for daycare Mon–Fri from 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Available evenings and weekends.
Usage: Best for potlucks, staging catered food, or small meal prep.
